What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?MA We have a month to month lease, at our request. after signing yearly leases for the past 6 years, because we
are planning on buying a house. We pay the rent on the first of the month, which we did this month, September 1st. Our landlord wants to sell his house, and he
gave us a 30 day notice yesterday in the middle of the month saying we have to leave on October 18th. Isn't he supposed to give the notice on the first of the
month? thanks

"Either the landlord or you may terminate this arrangement at any
time by giving written notice of 30 days or one full rental period in
advance, whichever is longer."

I find this confusing. Does that mean that he can or cannot give us 30 days in the
middle of the month after we already paid our rent on the first?
