Is sarcasm a little beyond you? I even put the  at the bottom of the post for the sarcasmally challenged.
I don't know what the ???? is at the bottom of the post. I imagine it means some sort of image that my computer can not detect.

If the big issue is the money than he should not have to pay if the money is no longer going to her mom (who passed away). I agree with him paying while she is in foster care, but there is already a plan (by the city) in place which will place her in an apartment because she must leave foster care when she turns 18 years old (in 3 months). If he continues to pay (past her 18th birthday), his daughter does not get the money. The last time I checked, child support is suppose to support the child not sit in the city's bank account collect interest for the CEO'S of the Human Resourse Department of NYC. He also inquire about the money being forward to his daughter after November 2007 (when she turns 18) and her case worker's supervisor told him, his daughter can not get the money because she is not the person that brought the case against him nor can she petition the court to receive the money.
Was Mom on asstistance before she passed? If so, Child support goes to the state.

The state is currently paing for her care right now.

Just where do you think the states money is comming from to do all this?

The tax payers! Thats who!

Where should it be comming from...."DAD"

Let me break it down for you.

Mom gets asstience from the state. Aprotion of her child support goes to the state...(state moeny is not free money)
If Dad is not paying support while mom is on assistence then the tax payers and thr state are basicly taking care of her child. State goes after dad for payback of money given to mom.

Mom psasses away.
Child goes into a foster home...State funded again by tax payers.
Stae continues to go after dad for monies owed. Dad continues not to pay. Dad loses drivers licence.

State still persues collecting funds. Dad still ot paying. Dad goes to jail.

.....DAD is not doing what he should do, so the state took away his driver licence. Next step in NY is jail.

Oh yah and one more thing.
DADS current support goes untill the child is 21. If for some reason the judge orders it to stop at 18...Ie. Child not in school or marries....Dad will still owe arrears. He will not get his licence back untill thoes arrears are paid to the state. He could even do jail time.

Support and arrears occured do not go away. The state will not stop untill dad pays themj or does jail time.

I am still having difficultly understanding the logic of having the child go live with strangers during one of the most traumatic events in life rather than having the comfort of family around

Well, DUH! The child doesn't WANT to move to the country. And when a CHILD isn't thinking clearly because their MOTHER DIED, you should ALWAYS allow them to instead become a burden on society.

Right?

I'm betting Dad wasn't real involved with this kid BEFORE mom died, and sees no reason to be involved NOW. He's not even the one asking if he can cut the child loose... it's the Stepmom... wonder if Dad even knows.

Did you just make up a word? Is there a pill for this, like "restless leg syndrome"??
