prepare the order for the Judge to sign if he grants the Motion?

That seems to vary in jurisdictions. However, it is not a problem to submit the Order with the Motion and the judge can use it or not as he sees fit.

The clerk would give you a chewing out for wasting her time.


(By the way, you could also just add a SO ORDERED plus a line for the judge to sign at the bottom of the motion. Put a place for the date also.)
