The bold and underlined section regarding the S2000 the court is saying is his car. The car is registered and insured under his dad. Can the court actually require this?

You betcha they can. If this is the only way for the family to get around, they can apply for the hardship, but otherwise, it's going to be locked up for ten days (at least).

Ok. So he got pulled in his dad's Durango. The Durango is the primary vehicle used for transportation. If they want to impound the S2000 for 10 days ok no problem. But can they legally install the immobilizer in the vehicle since it's not his S2000 but it's his dads?

I think they can. Also, which totally sucks, your friend's dad's insurance rates might go up to, since the insurance company will probably believe that he's irresponsible for letting a drunk person drive his car.

he's getting a lawyer, right? if not, totally go to 1800duilaws - that's how my friend found a lawyer for his dui.

ALL OF THE IMPOSED SENTENCE IS A CONDITION OF PROBATION.

Those are the rules of the probation he was offered. If he does not want to follow those rules, have him tell the court he refuses and is more than willing to set in jail.

if dad didn't want his vehicles to be subject to restrictions or loss, he shouldn't be letting drunk son drive them.
