My son will turn 18 in June, however he is only a junior in highschool and won't graduate unti he's 19. Does the child support automatically stop at 18 or does the payor have to file a petition for that to happen? Also if he does file a petition, will the court allow child support to cease before the child completes highschool? Any advice appreciated Thanks

Go here: http://ocse3.acf.dhhs.gov/ext/irg/sps/report.cfm?State=NJ&CFID=420369&CFTOKEN=96419774

Read it all, especially Section D - Age of Majority. CS in NJ ends when a judge says it ends.
