What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA

Hello. A support agreement was drafted up by my attorney which outlines how long spousal support would be effective. Unfortunately my spouse didn't acknowledge that and simply went through the court system to determine an amount which is being deducted out of my pay check automatically. My question is basically how long should I continue to pay this and do I have to file an appeal or something? Thanks for reading this and for your help!

If a court order was drafted and issued by the judge, then you go by that.

It is not a suggested 'should' you must pay that amount.

If the court order has no termination date...

Then it remains in force until you and your lawyer petition to change it and the court accepts your motion to terminate or modify the support.

If there is a termination date, you may still file.

Either way, you must act.
