What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Virginia.

I'm following an animal neglect case of an aquaintance. Unfortunately, he was only found guilty of 4 of the 6 misdemeanor charges, and he was only ordered to pay fines. He has not done so, they are overdue by three months. I have checked the public database, and he does not have any active warrants issued for him. He has a court date next week for driving without a license and other related traffic crimes. Will he be arrested (if he shows up to court) because he has not paid these fines? Will the court eventually choose to garnish his wages?

The case was a sad one, and the images of the poor animals that suffered because of him still haunt me. I'm just very frustrated that he has been able to get off so easy and is not paying for his actions. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

If he is on formal probation, they will have their process. If hes paying through the court, it has its own processes and many no longer issue warrants for failure to pay. They just put you in a collections process either through private or tax collecting agencies/dmv etc. They also go through the same process regardless of case type.. so the fact its an animal case will have no bearing on the processes they take..

I would concern myself with other things..

Thanks for the thorough reply. Animal welfare is what I concern my life with, and I have a personal attachment to the dog who suffered so greatly in this case.
