Does the parent who has parenting time have to be home to exercise his/her visitation? Say for example, a father has summer visits (joint legal custody). If he is called to go out of town a week at a time on business, a couple times during visitation (say a week in June, July then August) and the other parent knows this is a possiblity, does he have a right to leave his child with whomever he likes?

I mean, if there is about 3000 miles distance between parents, is he responsible for flying the child to be with the bio-mom until he gets back to "supervise" to stepmother around the child while he/she visits?

If bio-mom takes the visitation time that dad would have had when he was called to work, can he possibly get that time made up later?
