I remember when I was 20, my checking account became overdrawn and I bounced several more checks as I didn't catch my error yet. I was overwhelmed and ignored the statements mailed to me, the balance was only about $600 then overdraft fees started piling up. A few months later I got a call from someone at the bank telling me I was committing felony bank fraud. I'm not sure if it was a felony, maybe they said that to scare me, it did. I found by talking to the bank we reseoved the problem in a siutable payment plan with out involing the authorities. Since you put yourself out there even more with paying by bad checks you might want to try contacting them first about how you "just realized the batch of checks you were using were not the correct checks you thought you still had". Maybe they would accept postal money orders for some sort of payment plan. I have learned ignoring this sruff, I only dug a deeper pit of being overwhelmed, in more debt, and feeling grimey.
