What is the name of your state? Texas
If somebody has been in contempt of court for having a girlfriend/boyfriend stay the night (in the papers that this is not allowed to happen) and are no longer doing so (they are now married), is it still considered contempt of court since it happened or is it something that has to be caught? Is there a threat of losing custody with contempt of court or is it jail time only? Please, please respond if you guys know anything.... thanks!

Its not contempt of court unless a judge rules that you are in contempt.

A loss of custody or jail time is rare in a contempt case. First time contempt generally results in a stern lecture from the judge or a small fine. Generally, one must have been to court many times for contempt before a judge would impose something like a change in custody or jail.

If someone is now married...and the issue of contempt didn't arise prior to the marriage, its unlikely that it would arise now.
