re: summons for suit from collection agency
What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California
I have a question, am I suppose to be served the summons personally? I received an inter-office envelope from a staff person that works in my office, (I was out in the field at the time) with my summons folded and inside. The date on it was Nov 13 and it said I have 30 days to respond? It has already been a month and I just now get this? Is this legal, I thought the person being sued has to be given this summons in person. I received it on Jan 4th. How is that?
