There are countries where you can derive citizenship by having ancesters who were citizens. I could derive Irish citizenship as my grandfather was born there. However, as pointed out, that's not how it works in the US.

She died on December 25, 1764, at the age of 72. During my research I have not found any documentation stating that my 6th great grandmother ever gave up her US citizenship
Your 6th great grandmother was not a US Citizen. There was no United States of America in 1764. She may have been a British subject when she left, but the revolution didn't start until twelve years after she left, and the United States of America was formed in 1787.
