The Noddy guide to recording phone conversations..

If ALL parties are in a 'One Party' state, then only ONE party (ie, you) needs to know about the recording. You can record a phone call without anyone else's knowledge and use that information any way you want.

If ANY party is in an 'All Party' state then ALL parties have to be informed of the recording. If you record a phone call when ANY party is located in an 'All Party' state and they find out and have evidence, then you can be brought up on criminal charges, even if YOU are located in a 'One Party' state.

Illinois

Massachusetts
Michigan
Montana
Nevada
New Hampshire
Pennsylvania
Washington


So, if ANY party to the phone call is in one of the above states, you have to inform them of the recording or you could face criminal charges and civil damages.

I AGREE BUT, I ALSO KNOW BY EXPERIENCE IF THE COURT HAS ORDER A COUNSELING PHYIC- TO EVALUATION THE FAMILY FOR CUSTODY ISSUES YOU CAN RECORD PHONE CONVERSATIONS OR ANYTHING ELSE. YOU THEN GIVE IT TO PHYIC- FOR EVIDENCE AND HE WILL USE IT IN EVALUATING THE SITUATION WITHOUT THE OTHER PARTY EVER KNOWING. EX- HE/SHE CUTS YOU DOWN IN FRONT OF CHILDREN, CAUSES A SEEN IN FRONT OF CHILDREN AND THEN DENIES HE/SHE DOES THIS YOU'LL HAVE A RECORDING, THOUGH IT CANT BE USE IN COURT HE (PHYIC-) CAN USE THIS IN HIS DECISION. JUST A THOUGHT FOR ANYONE TRYING TO PROVE SOMETHING! GOOD LUCK.
