What is the name of your state? California

Why is there a shorter waiting time to process a resident’s green card application for an unmarried son than a citizen’s application for an unmarried son?

As of right now they are processing applications received on Feb 2005 made by green card holders to obtain green cards for unmarried sons I-130.

But for Citizens doing the same thing they have only started processing applications received January 2003

Citizens have to wait two years longer than a green card holder for the same application for their unmarried son.

Anyone know why this is?

The "waiting period" doesn't sound like a waiting period at all. It sounds like a backlog. If that is the case, apparently more citizens than green card holders have applied, and that is why the wait is longer.
