I was one of 12 defendants in a fraud case and got stuck with restitution far exceeding what I was responsible for. The government now is requesting 50% of my available income and because the restitution amount is so high ($300,000), life is a life sentence for me.
What can I do?

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

Not sure what you are asking. If the court decided you were responsible for most of the resitution based on the percentage of your culpability, then you are stuck.

If you feel the settlement was excessive or the amount you are requested to take out of your paycheck is impossible (i.e. you would be homeless), then maybe you might think of doing the following:

get another lawyer to appeal the judgment or at least pay structure.
