I lost my wedding ring. Inusrance company sent their jeweler whom offered me a new diamond. He said that he would sell the diamond for 5,995. He said he would just bill the insurance company. I declined as I wanted to price compare. The jeweler turned around and quoted the insurance company 4,850.00. Funny how the quote was lower after he figured out I wouldn't be getting a diamond from him. The jeweler's replacement quote is much lower than I can purchase the like kind and quality for (unless I purchase it from him) elseware. Do I have to accept it? Minnesota

Yes. And I rented a car years ago for $32/day and when I looked in the glove box there was a statement for an insurance company only charging them $10/day. Insurance companies get special deals. The point is whether your loss is replaced with something similar, not what the insurance company pays for it.

Thanks

Thank you for the response. I guess I hadn't looked at it from that point of view. Thanks.
