What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA
I received my green card in April of 2010 based on "Asylum" status. Two years ago I got married to a U.S. citizen. I'm close to being eligible for a U.S. citizenship and I was wondering whether I should change by green card status from "Asylum" to "Married" and apply for citizenship this way or should I stick with my previous status. The situation has since changed in my home country and the asylum status really doesn't apply to it anymore, so I'm wondering whether I should change my status or will it not even matter when applying for citizenship? I'm a bit confused here Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
