In January I was hit broadside in a parking lot in Ohio. The parking lot was not properly marked. I was advised by the responding officer that the establishment had been warned several times to put up stop signs. The other party was found at fault since I was going in a direction without any parking, and she did have a stop bar. First of all, is there any negligence on the part of the store owner? It is a very dangerous lot, and it is still not marked properly. Secondly, my injuries were minor, I had a sprained wrist and a concussion. I did have a pretty bad headache for about 2 weeks. I feel pretty good now, I do have some neck pain after working out, and I was diagnosed with TMJ (not sure if this has to do with the accident). I do not want to spend a lot of time at Chiropractors. I have been to my family doctor. My car was very damaged. The repair costs were over $8,000 on a 98 Ford Escort ZX2 (stupid to not be totalled). I do not see much value in this case and was considering negotiating on my own. I would like to know how to determine the value. I realize if I go to an attorney they will take 1/3, can they make it worth giving them the third? Thanks for your help!
