What is the name of your state? New York

To keep a very long story short, I have been charged fraudulently with harassment and stalking by a party with absolutely no evidence against me. To the contrary I have documented proof to the contrary that has my lawyer all smiles for my defense. My issue is this; the party who leveled the charges at me did so knowing full well he was lying to the police purely to have me arrested, which means I have documented evidence of his false statement which were meant purely to tarnish my name around my community. I know the obvious action with this is to counter sue, but the business partner of the party who had me arrested has been telling the schools and other establishments that I am known and respected in that he has placed identical charges on me, despite his name being mentioned nowhere on the police report. I have several witnesses who are willing to submit affidavits to this effect. My question is, do I sue them separately, jointly, or is there a better way of handling this situation that I have yet to think of?

Police reports are absolutely privileged so you can not base a defamation suit on them.

If you think the person was lying, then talk to the cops about them filing a false police report.

sj thank you for that information on the police report, is there a way i can have them release the statement to me for use in i civil trial. ohreally now, i am soory you seem so sceptical, but these days it is acually possible that there are a few people out there who are what they seem and truly innocent of crimes leveled against them. i am simply trying to find out what my best options are given my circustances. and yes there are other issues that led to my predicament. the party filing against have had a multimillion dollar real estate scam tumbled and are placing the blame for them being caught in thier crime on me and are lashing out with false charges in an attempt to soil my name in the midst of state and federal charges they are facing.
