Ok..my husband is a reservist. He recieved a speeding ticket on Dec 28 2002. Court date in omaha Nebraska was set for February 3rd 2003. He was deployed to Iraq with a couple day notice on January 23rd 2003.
I made contact with the city prosecutor who was trying the case and asked for an extension of the courtdate until he returned home. The prosecutor then offered to just drop the charges (6mph over speed limit, come on!). However, two months later they suspended his license, issued a warrant for his arrest and added a 'failure to comply' to his driving record.
Now I was under the impression that if he was notified of the defendants military obligation in Iraq, that he HAD to suspend the court date. I appreciate what he did with dropping the ticket, but now they will not remove the marks on my husband's record AND forced us to pay the reinstatement fee for a failure to comply for a speeding ticket that no longer exists!! And that is preventing him from certain employment options as well...any suggestions? PLEASE HELP!!
