Statutory Rape Charges Expiring?

even if the girl was a major slut it doesn't change the fact that she was 14. and in the eyes of the law she isnt' capable of sexual graification. meaning she doesn't want sex.

it has NOTHING to do with sexual gratification. Cow-boy's position would result in distributing child pornography charges. That would really help in the defense of the case.

The law was first established to protect young women from having their "virtue" taken by older men and more importantly to prevent pregnancy. It sort of forces a guy not to have a one nighter with a young looking girl. Yes, she can lie about her age but if she denies she said she was older than 18 what other proof do you have? The defense of "she said she was 18" has most people rolling their eyes when they hear it.

right and i understand all of that. my problem is that all he did was kiss her and she told the police the same thing. she takes the position of yes i did lie about my age and yes all he did was kiss me. she doesn't claim any emotional damage or anything of the sort. yet the state of wisconsin is still pressing charges. how is that fair? i thought the justice system was supposed to protect people from those that are harmful to society in some way. how is he harmful to society? how is it when the girl admits to lying that he is still in trouble?

how did the police get involved in the first place? How old was your hubby at the time?

this is the story. when my husband was in a school for the navy some friends of his wanted to go to wisconsin to see the sights. my husband was the only one old enought to rent a car at the time he was 21. they went. the guys had a different agenda. they wanted to meet these girls. my husband thought ya know whatever there were 2 guys with him and there were supposed to be two girls. anyway...they got there and there were 3 girls. they went to the movies and the girl started to touch him in his area. later they were driving around and he kissed her. she fondled him i guess. then they took them all home because he had to go back because he had duty the next day. that was the end of my husband's involvement. the other two guys then proceeded to go to wisconsin i think a total of 12 times to see these girls all the while they were having sex with them. i think one of the girls got pregnant. so in april the fbi contacted my husband stating that they had to investigate everyone that was ever involved. they dropped all charges against him. then in august the police show up and arrest my husband. as far as he knew it was all cleared up. he didn't even know they were 14 until the fbi told him in april. he only went once and he only kissed her. that is the short version of the story.
