What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Nevada

What are you supposed to do if you want to leave but the person you are living with says they will hurt your loved ones if you leave? Do you file a police report?

What can you do if you are the loved one they are threatening to hurt?

Why don't you start by telling us who you are and the facts of the case? "What if" scenarios are too hard to sort out.

Without details, as Misto said, no one can assist you or give you any inkling of what if anything the police might do. Nevada does have a comprehensive domestic violence resource manual on the website of the attorney general, so you might peruse it for details.

If you are scared to leave the relationship, you might be better served to call the national domestic violence hotline right now. They can assist you in safety planning. You could also contact a local attorney for a free consultation (many attorneys give them). If you have children, the last step is especially important.
