As a good neighbor you should trim the branches because it is your tree. She can trim the branches on her side of the property and send you the bill.

Skip the good neighbor stuff. I would trim them if I were phsyically and finanically able to.

But am I legally responsible? Yes or No?

If yes, how close to the property line do they have to be trimmed to?

I was here first (12 years before her) and the trees were present when she built her house. I am in Florida, if it matters.
The trees were planted 4' inside the property line.

My response:

With a response like that, I would have left this person swinging from the limbs.

Well IAAL, wood you like to know that I've decided to rattle my trunk, find my roots, setup a branch office and turn over a new leaf. I can see a lawyer barking from my treehouse, the good neighbor o-pined. Will his yard be evergreen? Save a tree, kill a neighbor.
