What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida
While looking over our taxes (2008) that we filed using Turbo Tax online (we're in the middle of amending our 2008 return for the FTHB credit ~ we originally claimed only $7500, but were actually due $8K), I noticed that the figure ($9413) on the coversheet of the tax return is $500 short than on line 72 & 73a (the line that states the actual refund due) of the actual return itself. I checked our bank account and we only received the $9413. According to our 1040, we're supposed to receive $9913.
Does anyone know why the difference?!? Has anyone experienced this sort of problem with Turbo Tax before?
I contacted Turbo Tax and their only response is "Talk to the IRS. They kept your money." And told me it what likely that we owed for something else.
If that's the case, isn't it highly coincidental that TT "shorted" us by $500 and we owed exactly that to the IRS? Is Turbo Tax psychic?!
Please pardon me if I've posted this in the wrong area. :/
