We are concerned that our daughter may be in some trouble. Her friend from out of state had recently sent her a card and a check for a necklace she wanted our daughter to purchase for her. She also enclosed (unbeknownst to our daughter) a quantity of marijuana for what she calls a "pinner" type cigarette. Our daughter, who is over 18 and is a very responsible young lady, has told us about this as she is in a panic because it has been four (4)weeks since the card was sent and she has yet to receive it. (We usually get mail from this area within 5-7 days) Short of contacting a lawyer, we thought perhaps we should do some quick internet research.
Is she or her friend responsible? What is the possible offense? Are there associated fines/penalties? How should we proceed? Our daughter has never been in trouble with the law; does that help her case if there is an arrest/charge filed? Thank you.
