another good reason to not run your dryer when you are not home is because many house fires are started by dryers.

Brief side story: When I was around 7 years old I got "Dried" by the dryer. 
While playing hide and seek my jerk of a brother found me in side the dryer with the door open. He held me in there and pushed the button that the door operates when closed and clicked it on for about 3 revolutions from what I recall. He obviously thought it was funny. But it hurt pretty bad.
