What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TN

My husband pay weekly child support throught the state since 2007.
Prior to that date, he had joint custody and paid support without an order.
When he and I married in 2006, his exwife served him change of custody.
His ex-wife's lawyer quit during negotiation yet the custody was filed.
She now is primary care giver as of January 2007.
My husband's lawyer signed it and it was filed in the court house.
Since that date, his visitation has been denied repeatedly.
One weekend, her husband pointed a gun to prevent picking up the kids.
The DA refused to prosecute?
We do not have the funds to hire another lawyer.
The judge had warned his exwife of jail time for visitation interference.
My husband has wrestled with the effect on the kids if their mom is jailed.
The children are 10 and 16.
I read somewhere that denying a parent the kids is the same as kidnapping.
It has now been a year since visitation.
The last promise broken for a get together put him in the hospital with heart.

Has your husband filed for contempt of the visitation order? He can probably do that without a lawyer.
