Three of us work in a lab at a wastewater treatment plant and
have been doing basic lab work for 30 years. We are female and
are around 50+ in age. There were 5 of us one of which was in
industrial surveilance. four were lab techs. the lab tecs are a lower classification and lower pay but less physical job.
Recently one lab tech was injured on the job and was forced to
sign a different posting doing a job she can do with her injury
in order to get paid. The Industrial tech is retireing. Management
has decided to change things and are basically forcing the remaining three of us to upgrade to the higher classification and
take on physical work we know we can not do due to the fact
we all have some physical problems that are documented by
doctors. We are being told we will do this or we lose our jobs
and will have to bump another employee, or be laid off. Do
we have any rights.
