Informing People About A Pedophile

What is the name of your state? Wisconsin

I've been told that hanging posters with the Pedophile's criminal record is against the law. How about send people that info by mail? Sending the info to the media, nearby schools, etc. What legally can I do to inform people?

They would have to be registered by law, so why not just make a notice up about how to use the Registered Sex Offenders site and they can come up on the information on their own, so no issues there.

If the person isn't registered, then they were not found guilty of this and you have no right stating anything about the situation.

My state has a law that states no person has to be registered before December 1993. I think there should be no deadline at all. The person I'm thinking of is indeed guilty of sexual crimes against children.

So get the law changed or prepare to defend yourself in a slander suit.

How can it be slander when it's true he's a sex offender?
Based on what? Seriously. If he is not having to register then he doesn't meet the definition of that term most probably. He may have committed some crimes of a sexual nature but that does not in and of itself make him a sexual offender.

Well this state has a 1993 deadline for registering for some reason. So even the most horrid pervert can hide out if his crimes happened before 1993. This guy I'm speaking of committed 4th degree sexual assault, exposed himself to a minor, and fondled a minor. He got off easy with a mental defense.

Mike, what is your point in all of this? Obviously you must know the child that was abused? What was this person convicted of? You must know that you can incur ramifications if you do this, or you would not be asking. You must be very angry with this person, and rightfully so. The legal system is not always fair.

This is all tied up in some dumb tenant dispute.

Other tenants accused mike of making noise and banging walls

Mike believes Paedo was banging.

Landlord wants Mike to leave on an illegal timeline.

Mike wants back at Paedo for banging he got blamed for.

JUST MOVE MIKE!

It can't be the only flop house around.

Oh, well now I don't feel sorry for him at all. I was thinking it was him, or his child or something. See what I get for being all sensitive. Pooh !! :p

silly

just because someone isn't a REGISTERED offender doesn't mean that they weren't convicted. Megan's law (as adopted by each state) isn't retroactive, so a child rapist release from prison in 1989 isn't required to register. If you know for sure someone was convicted, you can go to the court recorder and obtain a copy of the conviction.

Yes, court records can be checked easily. Though, people can't forget if you post comments such as accusing one of being a sex offender or molester and it isn't true. If no court record exists to prove the claim..You may have serious legal problems to follow....I can't imagine any one in a rational state of mind doing something like that. If they did and were sued, what possible defense could they have??
