I purchased a Louis Vuitton handbag from an E-Bay seller that the seller had listed as authentic and claimed she had purchased at E-Luxury. I paid through PayPal from my credit card. I received the handbag to discover it was a counterfeit, which I had verified through a Louis Vuitton authentication service. The seller refused to refund my purchase price and has told several "stories" in the interim to me. E-Bay and PayPal say that cannot collect my refund for me. The seller now has decided she will refund my money IF I send her the handbag FIRST. If I send her the purse before she has refunded me through PayPal, I have no guarantee she will refund my money because she has told so many lies up to this point. I cannot trust anything this seller says, so what are my options at this point to recover my purchase price?

Your options are simple:
1) Both of you agree to a neutral 3rd party escrow to hold the funds until the bag is returned, or
2) You file a lawsuit against the seller in HER hometown and try to get a judgment. If you do get a judgment, you then get the thrill of trying to get her to pay it.

Thanks for the advice. I have disputed the charge with my cc issuer, they advised me to send the purse back to seller, del. confirmation, certifed - return receipt. If the seller does not refund, Mastercard will chargeback PayPal for the funds to credit my account. Then PayPal has the pleasure of collecting from the seller. I have all e-mails from the seller, complete set of pictures of the purse, the box it was mailed in with a note from the seller, and verification of non-authenticity of the purse so that we will be able to prove it was counterfeit. Mastercard will handle it all from here on out. Big lesson? Document everything, and watch who you buy from. This seller had 100% positive feedback, but that is no real indication of honesty. Now I only buy from confirmed authentic sellers backed by MPRS and money back guarantees!!!:
