Hi, I was recently sold a site (forums) for a considerable ammount of money, soon after the former owner has resigned form staff and is doing little but posting stuff on how bad the site is now. I am fairly sure this is illegal, if it is what laws and such and what do I do about it.

1) What makes you think it's illegal?

2) What do you care?

first off, i have no legal background, i do have a background in buying and selling websites, the former owner posting his opinion (whether true or not) is just that and I dont think its illegal, if its your forum now just ask him to leave or ban him

Yep, it's your site, ban his ip number and delete his posts. You can file a civil complaint aginast him but you'll need to prove damages. If nothing else you can get his butt in front of a magistrate.
