My wife and I are new to internet business and after a customer ordered a piece of equipment from our website (not Ebay) and after we thought the transaction had cleared the bank, sent the equipment to the individual. We subsequently found that the bank transaction had failed or been rejected by the bank after we shipped the equipment. We use a shopping cart feature that seemed to indicate a completed payment and requested our dropshipper to send the equipment.
They are now refusing to pay.
We have an electronic trail showing their first contacting us; their communication of interest in purchasing; intent to purchase; their submission of credit card, etc.
How can we recover our loss?
Should we cut a partial-payment for full-credit deal? Should we try for a portion down and payments? Can we take them to Small Claims? Should we contact a collection agency? What is the name of your state?
