What is the name of your state? LA

I recall someone of a religious order having the order abbreviation as a suffix on his ID card, but it is also my understanding the State (Fed or local) does not acknowledge titles due to constitutional limitations. There are websites which detail the problems of people such as judges with a title in their ID card transfering the ID to a different state which does not recognize the practice. Can people add religious designations? If so how? Must they have a formal name change? Are certain titles treated differently, e.g. would the abbreviated religious order be treated differently than Rev. or Chaplain or M.Div.
If you have any sources or leads or information to impart please do, it will be greatly appreciated. I am not sure where to start.

Suggestively, i would start with your BMV first; then, depending on the ID, contact the respective Departments (under their ID Section).

Sorry your Honor; this is my first outside the Military Forum. Guess I should stay put there! Just trying to rack-up some credits :)
