What is the name of your state? Ohio
I recently ordered two laptop computers as Christmas presents from Walmart.com. During my order process I called customer service and asked them to send the boxes without pictures on them so my kids wouldn't see their presents. I even offered to pay extra for this. OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE THEM SHIPPED TO A DIFFERENT ADDRESS.. They reasurred me that the laptops would come in a brown box with NO pictures. So I went ahead and placed my order. When they arrived, there were pictures of the laptops all over the boxes! My kids had seen their presents and I was extremely hurt.:( I called customer service all week and they kept giving me the run around. I finally talked to a manager today and there was nothing she could do to help me. I contacted the complaints website and they never responded to me. I payed over a thousand dollars for these computers and the leaste they could do was not lie to me! Noone at Walmart.com has any sympathy for me and my situation and i feel incredibly hurt and that our Christmas is ruined. Is there anything i can do? Please help.

I'm sorry but if you feel the lack of a surprise gift ruined your Christmas, you have absolutely no idea what Christmas is about.

Taniaess, I am shoucked and outraged at all these insensitive and mean replies. Clearly, you have suffered the indignities of being lied to straight to your face (or at least to your ear, I guess), after having spent a significant amount of money with this store. However, I do have good news - I think there is a very simple solution to your problem. Have you considered converting to Judiasm? That way, the laptops will be but one of eight gifts, giving you the opportunity to come up with seven more that your kids have not yet seen.

Good luck.

What a bunch of jerks.

Christmas is a lot about surprise. The biggest thing for our family on Christmas is opening up the presents and seeing the surprise look on everyone's face.

Maybe you can take the presents back? Tell them you no longer want them since they spoiled the surprise, and now you must get something else. There will be much better laptop deals during Black Friday, so if you still want a laptop then you can get one then. Maybe even show your kids that you are taking them back, so they no longer think that they will be getting them.

Also, I have learned that it is best to have these presents shipped to your neighbor's place instead of yours.

Have you considered converting to Judiasm?
- haha :p

If you think wal-mart has some legal liability in this incident then YOU represent this poster in their lawsuit....oh wait, YOU'RE NOT AN ATTORNEY :D

freaks

I'm just replying to all you freaks who left a rude reply for me. YOU SUCK. I know what Christmas is about and it is also about surprise. So get a life and do yourself a favor and only reply if you can actually help me in this situation. A store should live up to it's policy and promises!

actually CHRISTmas is not about surprise. At least the true meaning. It is about the celebration of the birth of Christ, the second most important day in the Christian calender.

You expecting walmart to make special accomodations such as you request was unrealistic. They often do not even contact the merchandise in a situation such as this. Much of the merchandise is direct ship from the manufacturer or the manufacturers warehouse. I understand they told you they would not have pictures but the folks that dealt with this may have had (read; probably) have no idea what is on the boxes and have no way to have a box changed.

If you allow this to ruin your Christmas, you need to re-assess your priorities and understanding of what Christmas means.

christmas

Also, This problem is about a store problem not a Christian problem. I did NOT ask for any detailed information on what Christmas is about. As I said before....get a life.

Apparently you do NOT know what Christmas is about. You claimed it ruined the kids Christmas. You are the one who made it about Christmas, nobody else.

Bottom line, you have no claim against wally world. If you can get them to cough up some sort of coupon or gift cert. take it and run. They have no legal obligation to do anything.

Don't do business with wally world anymore and tell them as much and tell them why. Other than that, you have nothing.

Move on with life.

A store should live up to it's policy and promises!
And an adult should have at least enough common sense to not ASSUME that a bulk merchant is going to provide you SPECIAL packaging.... or that some minimum wage work drone for them has NOTHING to do with how they ship.

And even more stupid... not ship those presents to the recipients with the recipients names on them!!!
How did the kids get the presents to open??
Don't tell us you were so stupid you put their names on the packages??
Why didn't you put "mommy or daddy's" names on the shipping box to make sure that your little angels didn't open them on receipt??
And if you did put "mommy or daddy's" name on the shipping box for delivery, what the hell were your little angels doing opening a package that wasn't addressed to them??

Clearly, there is far more to this story than you are telling.... or you are lying about it.

to the jerk who called me stupid

Can you read?! My name was on them not the kids. The pictures were all over the box there was no need for them to open them! I asked the merchant to send them to another address if they couldn't provide them without pictures on the box. They told me that there would be NO pictures on the box so i went ahead and had them delivered to my address. I didn't assume anything. I went by what they told me.

You need to learn how to read freak.
