What is the name of your state? california I want to know if it is legal, for a public school dist.to be chargeing over $350.per student, for the year or any money at all to ride the public school bus to school? if you have 4 children thats over forteen hundred dollars every year I thought everyone was intitled to a free education and by law every minor has to have one. I would think, if the school is going to give you busing it should also be free, it used to be. what are they doing with all that money.each bus holds about 32 students we all know none of that money reaches the class rooms. Iam sure they woud say its for maintanice for the bus and pay for the drivers, that is alot of money considering theres alot more students than there is busses they get paid 32 times per bus and how did they pay for it before and if they are useing it for those reasons, after you sign over your life savings why is it, the bus is late or dose not show up at all.? and then tell you there is not enough busses or drivers . I understand but disagree its the schools choice to give transpertation or not but to charge such a unafordable amount to get a child to their "free education" is rediculess. other parents feel the same.

There you go... trying to think again!!!
What makes you think that 'free education' means free transportation?? They are not the same.

I take it you haven't gotten an invitation to the 'bus bar party'!!!

WOW!!! Your post is full of grammar and punctuation errors... so clearly you sure missed that 'free bus ride' a lot, huh???

moburkes is correct, the CA Supreme Court has decided school/home busing is not required to be supplied by the school making it a privilege and not a right. So, yes, they can charge.

Busing is not required.
I know busing is not required. I just thought it was crazy to be charge so much money to ride the school bus when you already have to pay for school supplies such as paper and pens and books and everything else it takes to have a so called free education. thank you for your response.
