I have a question. I am currently staying in one of the weekly/monthly rental hotels here in the valley and was wondering if the same laws applied to them (the owners) as well as Multifamily Apartments/Houses?

I have been staying here for about 9 months now and have paid an outrageous amount of money to do so... but it is not a big deal accept all of a sudden they are accusing me for a lot of bogus things and notified me that they will not accept my rent as of tomorrow at 11. I have a 13 year old son and it is so close to the holidays. They have even stopped giving me the monthly rental rate and have made me pay by the day at a higher rate than anyone else. I have received no written communication from them at all discussing these issues or even something formal to ask me to comply? Do they have the right to do that without any notice and considering they are pretty much blatantly slandering me. What do I do? Please help

I'm being accused for all the "Riff Raff" that comes onto the property...yet the "riff raff" are all the people that have previously rented rooms here and got kicked out. I'm also being accused of selling drugs out of the room. Which is ludacris and if they really thought that why haven't they contacted the police? And I'm being accused of physical property damage. (I stay in the back of the building and there is a chain link perimeter fence directly around the building) Well they are accusing me of cutting a hole in the fence and ripping it up so that people can come through after curfue (sp?) with their bicycles. Now I am a single mother and it's not comfortable for me either when the hole is almost directly in front of my door. They also say that my "guests" are doing damages to cars in the parking lot. All these accusations are completely false. Yes...there are some people that I have met that have previously lived here that have come to my door, but I don't let them in and I specifically ask them to leave so that I don't get introuble since they are trespassed. But how am I responsible for who comes to my door?

Oh and the last thing. I am accused of bringing the cops to the motel when the ambulance showed up about a week ago. It was early evening and my pregnant girlfriend came to visit me (during visiting hours mind you) & she went into labor and I have no vehicle...so I had to call 911. They didn't even hear my explanation as to why they were here...they just chalked it up to illegal activity.

Well that is pretty much the whole story. I am just as confused as to the accusations myself. It was all dumped on me yesterday so the intimate details I have yet to find out for myself at this point.

We're allowed visitors till 10 p.m.

I just wanted to know if the same laws applied for hotel living as they do for Multifamily housing (apartments). I am very aware of the laws for those...just not sure if they apply here in this case.
