What is the name of your state? Iowa
I have been making child support payments for 10 years. My daughter will turn 18 years in March, 2007. The decree states that payments will continue until said minor child attains the age of 18 years, unless said child marries, dies, or becomes self-supporting sooner. She is alive and has not married or become self supporting.
My question is; Do I just stop making payments in March, 2007 or do I have to do anything such as fill out legal documents or papers of any kind or sign something to end the payment process?
Thanks for your answers. What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?

What you'll need to do depends on your circumstances:

IF you do not have any younger children on the order, and if you don't owe arrears, and if you pay ex directly, (without CS being garnished), it MIGHT be possible to just stop paying.

IF the you have a younger child, or the CS is garnished, you'll need to either file to modify or speak to the CSE agency about ending the garnishment.

There's nothing in your order about the child being in school? Normally, support would continue until the child turns 18 or finished high school (or reaches 19 if the child is still in HS at that age). If the child is still in high school, you may be responsible for paying until she finishes.
