My exhusband and I have not spoken since last May when he filed legal proceedings against me. He alleged that I am an addict, severe alcoholic and mentally ill. He says that living with me is physically and emotionally detrimental to our daughters (teens). He alleged that I would not give him visitation. Everything is false. He sent me some stupid chain email and my response is below. The thing is I "replied all" which included his mom, sisters, attorney, aa group and more. Am I in trouble?

i got your email that you are filing bankruptcy. i paid off the debt with the house refi. how did you get into such debt within a year? yet you still drive the porsche.

still on L&I after almost a year for your knee surgery? haven't seen child support for a while. been getting harassing phone calls from your bill collectors.

i divorced you so that your alcoholism and crack addiction would no longer impact me and the girls. and yet your false allegations have cost me over $8K in the last 6 months! and i have proven you wrong on all accounts.

all your reports to CPS and guess what? they don't like you much either. I told you that my actions will always speak louder than your words. I cannot believe what you continue to put us through. and yet you are holier than thou and self righteous. you are not Godly. far from it. why do you think the girls don't want to spend time with you? you have no idea what you have done and continue to do.

YOU are the addict, alcoholic and on heavy anti-depressants. you want to start comparing lives? you oughta figure out by now...i already won.

Well folks, am i in trouble? Other than this email, I have not contacted him at all. I want nothing to do with him. I will never trust him again. He is out to make my life hell.

I doubt you are going to get sued. If what you wrote is false, he might have something on you but it sounds like neither of you have enough money for messing with a suit over it.

You cannot be "guilty" of defamation without publication.

If she wrote it just to him and it's a big fat lie, there's still no cause of action.

what i wrote is all true and there was publication...yes including his mama AND his attorney. i still haven't heard anything from him, his attorney and i forwarded the same email to my attorney. i haven't heard from him either.

i'm feeling a bit paranoid i suppose especially after his false allegations. truly what i wrote was true. conversely the allegations he made about me (which are now public record since he filed the legal proceedings) are all false.

that is so not fair. he can allege all sorts of stuff about me and it gets to be public and i can't "reply all" an email setting the record straight. sometimes it sucks to be me! i guess i'll need to remember to rise above rather than sink below!
