These heated energies are not geared towards a traffic ticket. They are geared towards people with the opinion that a citizen providing a legitimate defense in court against a charge brought by the state is somehow an unmanly or unpatriotic act.
and this is the same 'citizen' giving such legal advice as if you didn't sign the ticket you can ignore it.

Jumbo, you obviously have a lower intellectual capacity than BB because you had to resort to profanity.

Profanity is the feebel attempt of a week mind to express itself forcibly.
Inbred, I never used profanity. If you accpeted my accronym as profane, that speaks towards your state of mind.. not mine.

Nope... I am under the impression that every defendant has the constitutional right to defend himself against any charges brought by the state.

I have been an American all my life. I spent 20 years in the military in pursuit of the preservation of these rights. I don't believe the "American Way" ever involved just pleading guilty to a bogus charge or giving up your rights to due process of the law! I don't understand this pervasive opinion that defending yourself is "weaseling" and "unamerican". Geez... makes me wonder which America I spent 20 years defending... the one where all citizens have the right to their day in court, or the one where you just "take it like a man!"

You need to understand that most Americans don't care about a fighting a traffic ticket! Some come here for advice and usually the best advice for traffic tickets is ask for it to be reduced or to throw yourself at the mercy of the judge. Most Americans don’t care about spending hours preparing for trial, then some more in court, especially when they have no legal experience and could be doing something else with their time.

Now take your legal ignorance somewhere else. Go prepare for your big trial day or something. And don't come here insulting those of us who spend hours of our time trying to help others, just because you disagree with our legal opinion. Most of which, coming from many more years of legal experience and legal expertise then you will ever have.

and now you are not only an idiot but a liar. Keep it up.
I think I over estimated you... you act as if you are four... not six.

Is it really asking too much to stay on topic? Is it really hard for people like you to have a legitimate conversation without resorting to "nana nana boo boo" responses?? For God's sake... participate with someting legitimate and interesting!!

I believe it's OK to have a different opinion. I don't think it is OK to skirt around the topic at hand and make disparriging remarks that are totally off topic.

OK... that is just dumb. If people did not care about fighting a traffic ticket, why would they be coming here into this advice forum? You and I will have to disagree on the point that the best advice is usually asking for a ticket to be reduced or throwing yourself on the mercy of the judge. If you are going to be in court anyway, why not just go ahead and present a vialble defense?
I do agree that most people don't want to spend hours preparing for a trial. That's why they come here so they can get some advice from others who HAVE spent the hours. That's the whole purpose of this forum!!!

Well... unless you are a lawyer, selling your opinion as "legal opinion" is not appropriate. And how much experience did it take for you to tell someone to just plead for mercy. You can disparraige me all you like, but my record is strong and it speaks for itself. However, I have yet to use your tactic of begging for mercy!

Another attempt of a weak mind to express itself forcibly.

BB probably looked up your other posts. Do you charge for your legal advice Jimbo?
If BB looked up another of my posts in an attempt to discredit me, then BB should have quoted that post. But then, I question why it is so important to discredit someone's opinion on this site.

I don't offer legal advice. I am not an attorney. I simply offer the benefit of my experiences and tell people how I would defend myself if I were charged with a similar violation. Now, do you have anything interesting to add to what was an interesting conversation, or would you just like to poke at me again?

Really? And where do you advise posters that you are NOT an attorney?

Right here... I AM NOT AN ATTORNEY!!!

Now... where do you advise people that you are not an attorney? The way you enjoy attempting to discredit other people's legitimate opinion concerning the law certainly would imply you have some professional expertise.

Here's a hint. This is the ONLY place you've acknowledged that point. And ONLY when called on it. So, what does that do for your credibility?

My question as to charging for legal advice was not in terms of this forum, but the people (your friends, as you claim) you advise in person.

My apollogies. I misunderstood. However, my answer is still the same. It would be inappropriate AND illegal for me to charge for legal advice. I only tell people what I would do in a similar situation.

Most people come here just to ask what to do. The smartest thing that I or anyone else on this forum can tell them is to try to plea it out or beg for mercy. Advising someone with no legal experience to go to trial is stupid. Not to mention the fact they are throwing away their time, money, and energy. Most people come here to find out the easiest way they can take care of this with least expenses and penalties. Pleading it out or begging for mercy is their best option.

How did you get all your traffic court experience? By getting tickets yourself....That doesn’t make a strong record. Now while personal experience is always useful it does no way out rank the legal experience and expertise of the lawyers, police officers, judges, paralegals, and legal geeks on this forum.
