OP is not interested in a lawsuit - she just wants to get the teacher in trouble. The lesson for kidlet is: Don't take responsibility for your own actions - just find the nearest authority figure and blame them!

I know this sounds harsh, but (and this is to the OP) I really don't understand what you are looking for. If you want the teacher/administration to be more careful, then simply write a letter saying as much.
