What is the name of your state? Indiana I was just wondering about what to do about my ex. We have a 6yo daughter that he has chosen not to see since 2003 when we split up. I do not ever want to prevent him from seeing her if and when he ever decides he wants to see her. My worry is that he could just show up without my knowledge and take her from school and he decided to just take her from me that I wouldnt be able to prevent him from this. I have no idea where he is so if he did take her I would have no idea where she was. Is there anything I can do through the courts showing he hasnt had any contact with her to prevent this kind of thing from happening? The school says since he is listed as her legal father they cant prevent him from taking her if he did show up so I need to know what I can do?

So what if he does pick her up? He can't see her after school? Be glad he's coming.

You would need to get a court order that prohibits him from picking the child up at school.

It is always better to use an attorney if at all possible. You would be filing a petition to modify the existing order. If it were me, I would either ask for visitation to be suspended until dad takes further action or for visitation to be supervised until the relationship has been reestablished.
