What is the name of your state? MO

Ok, couple of questions.

I moved this past weekend, back to the town I lived in post divorce, and back into the county which has jurisdiction over my custody/visitation/child support issues w/my ex husband. The move took place with VERY short notice - like 2 weeks - but I spoke with the ex, and in a moment of clarity and rationality, he agreed that the move was in the best interests of the children...

Anyway, there's no order except the child support order wrt my son and the a$$hat. Consequently, I didn't inform him of the move. The child support order is out of county X and I moved back to county Y.

Questions:
1) Legally... was it 'ok' that I didn't notify him? I don't have an address for him anyway, but that's probably not the point.

2) How do I eventually change the CS order to the county I currently reside in? He no longer lives in county X to my knowledge.

Help?

You probably should have notified him but if you had no way to do so...then its a moot point.

Talk to the CSE about the county vs county change on the CS order.

Well, I think it's moot, and you do... but I know that sometimes the court has a completely different opinon than that of otherwise rational and intelligent people. ;)

Regardless, I'm quite happy with the situation. If he tried, he could find me... his attorney has all of my contact info (cell phone, work address/phone/etc) and even though he's no longer represented by that attorney, I'm sure he could get the info from him if he decided he wanted to see his son. I do, however, sleep better knowing he won't just show up on my doorstep.

I did. And, as you can imagine, they were less than helpful. I was told to call in a change of address - and I was assured that it's completely unneccesary as my CS is direct deposited. When I explained that I'd eventually want the new county to take over administration of the case in the event of a modification, they said "Well, we can't advise you on that."

I would leave well enough alone for now. Deal with the issue of the county when and if you need to make a modification.
