What is the name of your state? wa

my ex has been ordered to pay child support since last aug. we have yet to recieve a full payment because of a combo of him paying ANOTHER woman child support and working part time. How long does he have to be behind before these laws kick in where he starts losing his licence and whatnot? Im afraid that will be all that gets his attention...Also, does the payment of any child support give him any more rights that without? He seems to think thats what gives him custodial rights, not the parenting plan...THX! :D

It depends on how far the state allows him to get behind before they take action. A thousand dollars most likely WILL NOT do it.
And as for your second inquiry -- child support is NOT an admission fee for visitation/custody.

Took me two years in NY

Im in NY and have been fighting for my child support enforcement for the last two or so years...We first went to a support magistrate who sets the orders and if there is a problem he is the one who hears it...not a judge...That took about a yr and a half.
My ex is in arrears of almost 10,000 dollars and we have been in front of the judge 8 times. He has had his license revoked and suspended over the years due to non payment, was found guilty of one violation, and since this is the second violation he will face 6 mos in jail if he misses a payment and/or dosent come up with 5000 by 4-13.
It does have to be a substantial amount of money before jail time, but depending on the laws of your state, violations for non payment may be different. I would research that and if he has an existing order make sure you file for a violation if he stops paying.
