HR Dept being difficult

At the beginning of the semester, my supervisor asked for proof of enrollment from my schools to be able to accomodate the days I needed off. I was asked after I filed a grievance on him about an unrelated incident to re-furnish proof of enrollment because they need a certified copy from the registrar's office for proof and not my account summary printed from my web access account.

I called the school and asked them if they could either fax or email the paperwork to me or directly to the HR department, and I was informed that they do not do that anymore.(Also I can't get it from them by going in person, they will only refer me to the web access account) If I need proof of enrollment, I can print that online using my web access account using the account summary as proof. I told the registrar that this was not something they (my employer) were willing to accept since I had turned it in already, and they stated that they couldn't do anything else for me.

I was told that if I cannot furnish the proof they want, I will be told to stop taking the class and if I don't I will be terminated. Is it legal for them to force me to stop taking classes since I have furnished them the only proof my University will give me?

They cannot technically "force" you to stop taking classes. But they have no legal obligation to accomodate your class schedule regardless of what "proof" you provide and they can legally require that you be there when they need you or be fired. If those times do not mesh with your class schedule, that's a shame but they can still legally fire you for it. So you may be forced to make a choice between your classes and your job, and yes it will be legal.

I was emailed today by the HR Director stating that she needed the document. I informed her that I was unable to produce such a document because the registrar maintained their position about using the online account. She then stated that she either has to have the document in question or I can come into her office, log onto her computer, and then print it out for her there.

I feel this is an invasion of my privacy by her requesting me to allow her to see me log into my personal account from school so that she can verify that I am enrolled I guess. Now, if push comes to shove and I can be terminated for not granting her that access, then I will of course ensure that I do this. What limitations can I set on her wanting to see things in my account? I only want her to see me going straight to the part showing my schedule and printing it out...nothing further. So what I'm asking is this:

Can she fire me for not allowing her to watch while I access my account and browse through it for my schedule?

If I allow this to be done, are there limits to what she is allowed to see that will A: Keep me employed and B: Enough evidence to satisfy her request?

I seriously doubt that SHE wants to see anything other than your class schedule either. Grow up.

Maturity in reference to growth has nothing to do about it. I'm asking a simple question, a simple and relevant answer is what I'm looking for. Thanks for trying though.

Well then here is your simple answer. What she is asking you to do is by no means illegal. Should you decide to refuse, she has every right to fire you. Actually, she has every right to fire you regardless of whether you comply or refuse.

I think this HR Director is going 'way out of her way to help you produce the required documents. If you can't see that and persist in thinking her entire objective is to snoop around in your online school account, then yes, I agree, you do have some maturity issues.
