What is the name of your state? Florida

My boyfriend has filed for divorce here in Florida in the middle of February, his wife was served in Texas with the papers on March 1st 2007. She hasn't responded at all and a default has been entered on March 22nd 2007. He has emailed his case worker in the court house a request to set a court date and it is scheduled sometime in May (he didn't give a specific date yet when he emailed my boyfriend back). Can his wife still submit paperwork and be heard ? I mean, there is a 20 day time frame for her to respond and she let it go by without responding. I think that any response from her after that time frame should automatically be dismissed. Any input is greatly appreciated !! :)

Its not a true "default" unless she also does not show up for court.

What you think doesn't matter. She can still be heard and she can still file paperwork. she missed the deadline but since the hearing hasn't been held it is not over.

thank you LdiJ for responding ! She lives in Texas and I seriously doubt that she will show up for the court hearing here in Florida. But if she does, she can theoretically bring a load of paperwork with her and make her case in the dissolution of marriage ? If she doesn't show up, he will automatically be divorced, right ?!

Both ex's are in default now

My ex hasn't responded within the 20 day time frame either and I filed the motion for default against him at the court house yesterday. My boyfriend's court date is set for the 22nd of May 2007. My court date shouldn't be too far after his :) Theoretically, if our ex's don't show up for court and don't file any paperwork before the court date, we are automatically divorced, right?!
