What is the name of your state? South Carolina
A twist on an old post. I gave back an auto in 2003. It was sold at auction and they attempted to collect the difference for a while. I finally recieved a letter stating that it was being reported to the IRS as unearned income under the credit reconcilliation act (?) as income and I paid tax's on it. As far as I know, it is over. If I paid tax's on the leftover money as income, I cannot fathom why people are still sending me collection letters. The sol ran out after 3 years so**************. I have just recieved a collection letter from a new company. I am guessing the best course of action is to ignore them? Any thoughts?
