Is it a standard clause to a homeowner's policy to have a death benefit clause for the homeowner if he died in the hospital after surgery & never came home? Is there a time limit for filing this claim?

There are some companies that are now issuing homeowner policies with an AD&D "rider." It applies to the homeowner & usually also immediate family members who live with the homeowner. In the case of such things as a home collapse, home invasion or other event that may cause death or injury, the AD&D endorsement provides a monetary benefit, the amt. which is determined by the type of injury or possible death. You would have to read your policy provisions or talk to your agt. about this. I don't know of any that pay for anything not related to home injuries/death.
