What is the name of your state? MO (duh)

Ok. I'm close to ready to file my stuff, and I have 2 questions.

1) Asshat filed his petition for custody/visitation/paternity/child support in X county last year. He later withdrew the petition prior to any hearings on the matter. Obviously, the case was never resolved.

The question is - did this establish jurisdiction in that county, even though it was withdrawn?

The child and I do not now, nor ever have, lived in that county.

2) I cannot find any info regarding this, and the clerk didn't seem to know the answer - is there a residency requirement in a COUNTY before one can file? I've lived back in county Y for a little over a month... should I wait to file in this county (assuming jurisdiction wasn't established by him filing in county X) until I've lived here 90 days or something?

I REALLY want to file/have my case heard in county Y.

Was child born in that (X) County? Otherwise, it's possible the petition was withdrawn bc of improper jurisdiction in the first place. You currently live in county X, what county does he live in?

Don't you have a child support order? What county made that order?

Ok...

I lived in Clinton County. That's the county that issued the CS order, but it's an administrative order, so the clerk there told me that I didn't need to file there.

I live in Platte County now.

Asshat lives (I think) in Clay County.

Baby was born in Clay County, I think... I'd have to check a map.

He withdrew his petition after his attorney verified that his CS would be $600/month instead of $300.

Since the only order is an administrative one, I think that you can file in the county where you now reside.
