Just out of curiosity but do you also expel different ethnicities (such as after 9/11 did you expell anyone that was Muslim or could appear to be Muslim)? Anything can disrupt the learning environment. ANYTHING.
Which allows us the ability to expel anyone for ANYTHING.

And, some of the "anything" expulsions will open the door to legitimate lawsuits, right? So, does your school also expel people because being black or Asian is a distraction?
There have been many suits, all have failed. Private schools have a very strong freedom of discretion. But no we are not racist.

But apparently you are homophobic....So how do you determine what will make others uncomfortable?
By the numerous complaints we receive from students, faculty, and parents. Just because something makes you feel uncomfortable or you happen to disagree with the view, does not mean you are homophobic.

Agreed. Just because Black people make you uncomfortable, it doesn't make you a racist.

I sit on the board of trustees for an all boy private high school, and we have voted to expell numerous students for being gay. We have been sued numerous times, and each time the case was thrown out at summary judgment. Private schools have a legal right to expell students as they wish. As for the California Case, well one its California, two as ohiogirl said because you can be sued does not mean you can win. Not to mention this OP goes to school in the Great State of Texas.
Holy crap. PUN INTENDED. Now that is the kind of stuff that belongs in a closet.
