What is the name of your state? Washington State

Hope someone can advise me as to a prudent, legal, next step.

January 2007 I sold a Jeep CJ7 auto to a buyer in TX. In February 2007 he paid me in full for the jeep using PayPal.

Sounds good so far.

I still have the jeep.

I've sent emails, left voice mails and the guy never responds. I'd like to see this thing consumated. I want the jeep gone.

My insurance agent has cautioned me that I'm at risk here, if the jeep were to become stolen and involved in say an accident, I could be liable. I still have the title and have not filled out a sellers sale report with the state because I figured the pickup was "just around the corner".

I'm thinking of sellling it to someone else and putting the money in escrow so if I ever do hear from him, he can folllow a procedure and get his money back.

Any thoughts? What is the name of your state?

Send the buyer a letter, certified return receipt requested, giving him 30 days to pick up the vehicle. Tell them if the vehicle is not picked up in 30 days, you reserve the right to resell the vehicle and deduct from the payment already made, any and all costs related to reselling the vehicle. You can also tack on a cost for storing the vehicle that will also be deducted from the already received payment.

i would call the FBI

this person mite be trying to launder money

I've heard of it before , some one comes in and pays for a car in full then comes back a few weeks later and decides not to buy and request a refund of clean money

You should call the FPWS. Did you notice a couple of things that make your post totally irrelevent. Payment was made through Paypal many months ago. Please exit to the left.

there is no way of knowing where the money truly came from

it could have come from any where ,i could send one dollar to your pay-pal account and you can't tell me where i sent it from

Google C/P -> laundering money thru paypal
Google C/P -> laundering money through eBay

irrelevant is spelled wrong

I work in online anti-fraud and this is an increasingly common scam.
